Home Bound Hounds

By:
The Hounds’ were on the road once again to take on the Chicago Zephyrs.  The visitors had a chance to add a W to the left column in the MCL standings if they could take care of the struggling Zephyrs.

In a shorted game due to rain, the Hounds did just that. They scored six runs off of nine hits. This was a big rebound for the dogs’ offense, as they had six runs total in their last three games.

Top performers were Joey White, Brian Rodemoyer, Drew LaComb and Tim Delany. White, Rodemoyer and LaComb all had RBIs and Delany went 3 for 4 with two runs scored.

Kyle Dermady started the game and pitched a 3 1/3 innings giving up three runs. He gave way to Brent Jurceka who got the win and only gave up two hits.

The final: 6-4 Hounds

With the win, the Hounds moved to 7-3 on the season.

This week could be a turning point of the summer. With six home games in just as many days, the Hounds have a chance to take command of the MCL.
In the next six games they face the Chicago Zephyrs, Rockford Foresters (twice), the NW Indiana Oilmen, the SW Vikings, and the Lexington Snipes.

The next game is today at 7 p.m. at the Benedictine University Sports Complex.
