Hounds move to 12-6 for the Season

During the first game yesterday the Hounds stayed right on the heels of the Crestwood Panthers in a game that ended 6-5. The Hounds fell behind quickly with the Panters putting up 3 runs by the 3rd inning. Drew Demumbrum was the first one to put runs on the board for the Hounds with a two run homer bringing in Joe Stewart. The Hounds couldn't seem to stop the Panters from scoring the next inning allowing them to put up their final 3 runs for a total of 6. The Hounds did come close to breaking even; in the 6th inning Betch got on with a hit by pitch and later scored, and in the 7th inning Welch hit another two run homer which brought in Kane. Unfortunately this only made 5 runs to the Panters six and we were unable to push a winning run across the plate

In the second game the Hounds got behind again early and one big inning for the Panthers meant that we were unable to catch up. Joe Stewart scored the first run for the Hounds in the 4th inning and a grandslam from Betch brought in 4 more runs tying the game at 5 in the 5th. Yet again a big push from the Panthers allowed them to score 8 in the next inning, putting up runs that the Hounds just could not get back. The only other run came from Cocco off of a double from Welch.

The Hound's next game is today followed by games on Saturday and Sunday at the Lemont High School Sports Complex
