Rick PanekPitching Coach
Entering his first year as pitching coach for the Hounds, Rick played his collegiate career at UIC under legendary coach Les Miller. For 3 seasons at UIC, he was a both a position player and relief pitcher. During his senior year, he was elected the team captain moved to the role of starting pitcher. He led the staff with a 6 - 0 record and was named the team MVP.
In 1997 shortly after he moved to Lemont, he founded the Lemont Indians Traveling Baseball Program with the help of Sean's father Todd. Later in 2002 he was named the Varsity Pitching Coach for Lemont High School and has served in that capacity since that time. He has also served as the pitching coach for the Lombard Lightning 18U Baseball Team from 2004 until 2014. During his years with these programs, he has had several players move on to play at various collegiate levels.
Rick resides in Lemont with his wife Jody and his children Erik and Lauren. He is thrilled to be a part of collegiate summer baseball in his home town. He recently retired after 35 years with HSBC where he held various management positions. When not coaching baseball, he is an IHSA basketball referee and also runs the travel and recreations basketball leagues for the Lemont Park District.
