Joe Engel continues to man the three-hole where he went two for four with two singles. He also reached base two additional times via the base on balls. Brandon Post continues to be a big key in the middle of the Hounds lineup. He reached base three times in his five trips on a walk and two singles.

The everyday man, Tyler Tesmond continues to be a RBI machine as he drove in three DuPage runs after going one for five with a base hit. Billy Hayes drove in the other two Hound RBIs after going one for two at the dish with a single.

The Roberson brothers continue to get on base each and every game as Mike went one for six with a base hit and Joey reached base twice in his six chances on two singles.

Peter Hamot was handed the ball to start the game where he threw an efficient five innings in which he gave up four earned (5 total) runs on seven hits which striking out three. Christian Bokich did a fantastic job of keeping the game tied at six through his additional five innings of work that saw him surrender just one run (none earned) on three hits while striking out five. The Oilmen finally got to Bryan Bund who was handed the loss after giving up the seventh and final run in the eleventh.

The season series between the Hounds and the Oilmen is currently knotted up at two games a piece. These two teams will next face on Friday, June 1st at 7:20pm at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, IN.

Saturday vs. Joliet Admirals

Saturday’s 5-2 victory over the first place Admirals might have been one of the Hounds best games of the season. The boys in blue and gold performed well in every facet of the game. Joey Roberson led a trio of shutdown pitchers. The bats came alive for ten team hits and the gloves were on point as they surrendered no errors on the day.

Dane Toppel walked twice in his four trips to the plate out of the leadoff spot. Ryan Krob stretched his hit streak to four games after going one for four on the day with a base knock.

The consistent bat of Joe Engel continues to keep him in the three hole where he had another successful day at the plate, going two for four with two singles. Mike Roberson continues to see his average climb after he reached base twice in his four trips on a single and a double.

The Hounds had two players up for offensive MVP on the day with Billy Hayes reaching base in all four of his attempts after drawing two walks and slugging two singles. He also drove in one of the Hounds five runs. The man of many talents, John Dreveny slugged in three runs after going two for four at the plate with a base hit and a double off the wall. Zach Girard rounded out the Hounds lineup by smacking his first home run of the year that came in the form of an inside the parker.

The young gun himself, Joey Roberson kept the ballgame under his control for the first seven innings in which he allowed just one run on eight hits while striking out three. The combination of Austin Lukaschewski and Tony Iero locked down the final two frames of the ballgame as they continue to prove to be two of the most trusted arms out of the DuPage pen.

The Hounds next ballgame is Wednesday, June 29th at 5:00pm against the Bloomington Bobcats at the Lemont High School Sports Complex. We look forward to seeing you all there!
