The new dog pound is located at the Lemont Sports Complex off 131st and Bell Road. The Lemont Sports Complex was built just over 10 years ago and has two soccer fields, a softball field, and a baseball field. With great playing surface and newly built press box, the Hounds are excited to be affiliated with this great facility and the City of Lemont.
The Hounds wish to thank John Young, Athletic Director at Lemont High School for hosting the DuPage Hounds. The Hounds plan to contribute to the community of Lemont’s success in baseball; Lemont High School is the reigning state champion. They continue to produce student-athletes who go on to play at universities around the country.
Former Lemont High School stand-out athletes Michael Wisz and Charlie Wright will help The DuPage County Hounds compete for a 2015 Midwest Collegiate League Championship. Wisz attends the University of Houston (top ten ranked team) and will be a key contributor in the middle of the Hounds line up while playing first base. Wright is a left-handed pitcher at Joliet Junior College and has had an immediate impact on the three time national champions.
The Hounds have a history with Lemont residents including Pat Driscoll (2012) & Mark Kornacker (2012). Mark’s younger brother Mike Kornacker is a freshman at Purdue University and has committed to playing for the Hounds in 2015.
Fourth year manager Sean Osborne grew up in Lemont, currently lives in Lemont, and played for the Lemont Indians travel baseball team. He also does work with the Lemont Lightning travel organization. The Hounds have also hired Lemont resident & Lemont High School pitching coach, Rick Panek.
“It gives me great honor to give back to the city that I have lived in my whole life. We will do all that we can to help Lemont continue to be a baseball powerhouse. The town of Lemont and baseball have had huge impacts on my life. I cannot wait to see what the future holds with this partnership.”
