The luncheon, which will be taking place at Benedictine University that also serves as the home for the team, will include foods you will find when attending a traditional baseball game including hamburgers off the grill, hot dogs, chips, etc. 

 

Moreland will be speaking to the crowd on various topics including his experience playing summer collegiate baseball, playing in Major League Baseball, and his current role with the Chicago Cubs as their radio color analyst.  In addition to this, Moreland will participate in a Q & A as well as signing autographs and taking pictures with all attendees from 12:30pm until 1:00pm.

 

Cost for the event is $35.00 however Lisle and Naperville Chamber of Commerce Members as well as season ticket holders will receive the discounted price of $30.00.  All attendees will get lunch as well as a DuPage County Hounds logo baseball.  A silent auction will also take place during the event, which will include Cubs autographed memorabilia such as an official Chicago Cubs batting helmet autographed by Ryan Sandberg. 

 

Capacity for the event is only 200 seats, which is expected to sellout.  VIP tickets are available, which includes a special meet-n-greet with Keith Moreland from 11:00am until 11:30am as well as seating at the main table with Moreland.  VIP tickets are limited to seven tickets only, each of which cost $50.00.  Access to the meet-n-greet and the luncheon with regular seating is $45.00/$40.00 each ($10 extra a person) on top of the regular seating price.  Corporate sponsorships for the event are also available as well, which includes premium seating, meet-n-greet passes, and advertising exposure.

 

“On the field during our 2012 Inaugural Season, our team finished over .500 and off the field our attendance capacity was over 67%,” said DuPage County Hounds Co-General Manger Joe Stefani.  “For our 2013 season myself and my Co-General Manager Josh VanSwol wanted to really raise the bar for the Hounds.  This kickoff lunch is just one of nearly a dozen ways we’re raising the profile of our team for our 2013 campaign in addition to the hiring of two new full-time staff members, which includes an Assistant General Manager.”

 

Moreland played for various MLB teams from 1978 until 1989 including the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, and the Baltimore Orioles.  During his MLB career, Moreland had 1,279 hits, 121 home runs, 674 RBI’s and a batting average of .279.  Moreland was part of three National League Championship Series and one World Series.
