DeKalb County Liners Join Midwest Collegiate LeagueBy: The Midwest Collegiate League announced today that the DeKalb County Liners Summer Collegiate Baseball Club will be part of the Midwest Collegiate League for the 2012 season. The Liners will be the sixth team for the league.
The Liners will join teams from the 2011 season including the Rockford Foresters, Southland Vikings, Will County CrackerJacks, and the Chicago Zephyrs. Also joining the league for the 2012 season is the already announced DuPage County Hounds. The league plans on announcing two more expansion teams for the 2012 season in the coming weeks.
“We are extremely excited to welcome the Liners and their owner Kim Wise into our League,” stated Commissioner Don Popravak. “The DeKalb market offers the Midwest Collegiate League an ideal location which is easily accessible from the interstate highway and fits perfectly with our plans to build a Cape Cod like summer collegiate league from both a talent and geographic footprint.”
The Liners were part of the Prospect League for the past two seasons (2010 & 2011) and are the second market to move over to the Midwest Collegiate League. The first market to move over to the Midwest Collegiate League was the DuPage County Hounds. |
