Hounds Lose on the Road, Recover at HomeBy: Thursday night did not fare well for the visiting DuPage Hounds (21-9). The Southland Vikings (18-4) took it to the MCL leading Hounds beating them 11-1.
This didn’t discourage the Hounds as they came back Friday morning to beat the Rockford Foresters (7-21) 8-1 in a shortened game one of the double header. Conor Philbin went 2-2 and had three RBIs in the morning and Daniel Will took the win pitching 5 1/3 innings (the game was shortened due to rain) giving up five hits and one run.
Game two is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Benedictine University against the Foresters. The Hounds hold a 1.5 game lead over the NWI Oilmen in the MCL standings.
