Three Players Signed For 2014 Season

LISLE, IL – The DuPage County Hounds (Midwest Collegiate League) announced today their first player signings of the 2014 season, which is the first announcement in the Midwest Collegiate League.  In total the Hounds signed three players; Pitcher Alex Cain of Eastern Illinois University, infielder Drew Sterioti of Eastern Illinois University, and catcher Danny Riley of University of Illinois-Chicago (2014).

 
Cain is currently a freshman at Eastern Illinois University and a native of Oregon, IL.  The 6’3” 205 pound right-handed pitcher played high school baseball at Oregon High School where he was named to the All-Conference Team three years, the All-Area Team two years, as well as the All-State Team for the 2A Division.
 
Sterioti, a Naperville native, is a freshman at Eastern Illinois University where he will be an infielder (3B specifically).  Sizing up at 6’1” 185 pound, Sterioti played high school baseball at Neuqua Valley.
 
Riley will be attending University of Illinois-Chicago in 2014, but is currently a senior at Naperville North High School.  Riley will be playing catcher for the UIC Flames.  In high school, Riley played travel ball with the Longshots Baseball Program, which has been a factory for Division I players.  Riley resides in Naperville, IL.
 
The total number of players signed by the DuPage County Hounds stands at three total, all of which are Division I players.  All three players live in Illinois and two specifically are from Naperville.  As the announcements continue for the 2014 season roster for the DuPage County Hounds, the team will keep fans informed of the make-up of the team in terms of what towns they are from, schools they attend, as well as the type of program they come from (Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, or Junior College).
 
The DuPage County Hounds are coming off their second season in the Midwest Collegiate League where the team on the field set a league record in the regular season with a .706 winning percentage, clinched their first pennant, and made the playoffs the second season in a row.  Off the field, the team has drawn 25,395 fans over two-seasons, led the Midwest Collegiate League in attendance for the 2013 season, as well as hired two new full-time employees bringing their full-time staff to four individuals.   For more information on the team, please visit the team’s website as www.DuPageHounds.com or call (815) 704-3839.
