Richie Gorski, Frankie Perrone, and Mike Roberson socked run-scoring doubles and the Hounds bullpen held for Christian Bokich in a 5-3 win over the Oilmen.

Gorski got the scoring going in the bottom of the 1^st inning, lacing a hard groundball down the right field line. The double scored both Frankie Perrone and Connor Kopach to give the Hounds a 2-0 lead.

Northwest Indiana got a run back in the 2^nd when Craig Dedelow scored on a pair of fielding errors, but DuPage County made it 3-1by the end of the inning with a run off starter Jimmy McNamera.

Tempers flared in the bottom of the 2^nd after the second run-scoring double of the game. Frankie Perrone plated Emerson Misch, but Clayton Johannes was thrown out trying to come home. Johannes, beaten handily by the throw, slammed into NWI catcher Andrew Ray to try and jar the ball loose. Ray held the ball but not his temper, knocking Johannes to the ground and throwing the ball in his direction. The benches cleared, but the teams engaged in no further bloodshed as the offending parties were ejected.

The Oilmen scored twice in the top of the 4^th. McNamera, now forced to bat after the ejection, laid down a squeeze bunt to score Dedelow. James Meeker came in on a wild pitch to tie it at 3-3.

DuPage County (21-8) got those runs back in the bottom of the 4^th when Mike Roberson, who had a home run in Friday morning’s game against Joliet, missed another by a couple feet, settling for an RBI double. Roberson would later score on a McNamera balk, giving the game its 5-3 final margin.

Christian Bokich earned the win after allowing three runs on six hits in his five innings, walking one and striking out one.

Matt Frawley set the pace for the Hounds bullpen with a pair of scoreless innings. He worked out of a jam in the top of the 6^th, striking out Rob Blissitt with the bases loaded.

Nick Alfini tossed a scoreless 8^th and earned the first out of the 9^th inning before being replaced by Drew LaComb, who started the game at second base. After allowing a one-out single to Blissitt, LaComb forced Ryan Burvan to ground into the game-ending 6-4-3 double play. Defensive replacement Drew Sterioti was the middle man in the twin-killer.

The Hounds have now won four games in a row to increase their lead in the Midwest Collegiate League standings. The team now faces a stretch of seven games in six days after an off day tomorrow. DuPage will start on the road Tuesday night in Northwest Indiana, making up last night’s rainout. That game will be broadcast on dupagehounds.com.
