New Baseball Team Coming To Lisle

LISLE, IL – Windy City Sports & Entertainment announced today that the DuPage County Hounds will be coming to the Village of Lisle as a new expansion team in the Midwest Collegiate League, a nationally known summer collegiate league based in the Chicagoland area.  The team has a long-term lease at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex and will begin playing in the summer of 2012 with their first home game taking place on Friday, June 1 at 7pm. 

 

The team officially launches its organization today with the unveiling of their team name, logos and web site. Coming into the team’s announcement today, they already have exceed their goals for corporate sponsorships as well as season tickets by bringing in local sponsorship support already with such companies as Lisle Savings Bank, bd’s Mongolian Grill and Lisle Lanes.

 

The team’s main logo features a hound dog with a ball in his mouth with a doghouse and bones coming from the ground from each side of him. The “Hounds” part of the logo features a fence type look to it. The team’s secondary logo features just the words part of the main logo.

 

The franchise, which was previously announced on July 13 to the sports industry, will feature some of the top collegiate baseball players not only in the area, but all over the United States. Summer college players utilize wooden bats during the summer as they enhance their skills in preparation for being drafted into Major League Baseball organizations.

 

Many of Major League Baseball’s brightest starts have participated in summer collegiate baseball in the past right here in Illinois including Kirby Puckett, Neal Cott, Joe Girardi, Jon Papelbon and Ryan Howard.

 

Fans can purchase tickets for the team’s Opening Night on Friday, June 1 by visiting the team’s web site www.DuPageHounds.com.  Individual tickets are $8 and season tickets start at $115 per seat for the entire season. A full schedule will be released by the league later this year. For more information about the Midwest Collegiate League, please visit www.MidwestCollegiateLeague.com
