Hounds Splint With SnipesBy: The Hounds found a way to tack on seven runs in game one while Brett Jurceka and Ryan Hinchley were able to shut down the Snipes’ offense. All- Star Paul DeJong had three RBIs and scored two runs in the game. He also hit his first homerun of the season.
In game two the Snipes locked in on the Hounds. Even though the Hounds pitching was respectable, the Snipes picked up four runs and took the win.
With the split, the Hounds retained their joint lead with the Snipes for the MCL lead. The Hounds only play the Snipes two more times this season. The NWI Oilmen are a half game out of the lead while the Southland Vikings are game behind.
After All-Star Tuesday, the race for the MCL title really tightens.
But before things get serious, the Hounds take on the U.S. Military All-Star team today at 7 p.m. at Benedictine University. Then, 12 Hounds’ players head to Indiana to play in the MCL All-Star game. |
