Hounds Sign Three More Players, Six on Roster NowBy: LISLE, IL – The DuPage County Hounds (Midwest Collegiate League) announced today three more player signings, bringing the team up to six total players for the 2014 season. Catcher Mike Roberson from Ball State University, right-handed pitcher Kyle Henderson from Saint Joseph’s College of Indiana, and Middle infielder Connor Kopach from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Measuring up at 6’0” and 205 pounds, Roberson is from Bartlett, IL. Currently he is a freshman at Ball State University where he is a catcher. While playing at Bartlett High School, Roberson was named on the All-Conference Team as well as an honorable mention for the All-Area Team. Henderson is currently a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s College of Indiana, which is the same school that ace pitcher Brett Maus of the 2013 season Hounds also is a member of. Henderson is a right-handed pitcher from Mokena, IL who attended Lincoln-Way East High School. Kopach, who currently attends Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where he is freshman, is a middle infielder. Kopach attended Downers Grove North High School where he picked up numerous awards including 2x All WSC Conference, Player of the Year by Progress Newspaper, 2x All-Area Team, Honorable Mention to the All-State Team, as well as selected for the IBCA All-Star Game. Kopach resides in Westmont, IL. The total number of players signed by the DuPage County Hounds stands at six total, all of which five are from Division I programs and one is from a Division II program. All six players announced so far are from the Chicagoland area. As the announcements continue for the 2014 season roster for the DuPage County Hounds, the team will keep fans informed of the make-up of the team in terms of what towns they are from, schools they attend, as well as the type of program they come from (Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, or Junior College). The DuPage County Hounds are coming off their second season in the Midwest Collegiate League where the team on the field set a league record in the regular season with a .706 winning percentage, clinched their first pennant, and made the playoffs the second season in a row. Off the field, the team has drawn 25,395 fans over two-seasons, led the Midwest Collegiate League in attendance for the 2013 season, as well as hired two new full-time employees bringing their full-time staff to four individuals.
