Hounds split mid-week doubleheader with Bloomington

After a one-sided, 10-2 blowout in game one of the doubleheader against Bloomington, the Hounds failed to hang on in extras in game two, falling to the Bobcats by a score of 4-2.
 
Between the two games, Dustin Krob went four for eight out of the leadoff spot with three singles, a double and two RBIs. Brandon Post proved to be the offensive juggernaut for the Hounds once again as he went five for seven on the day with four singles, a triple and four RBIs.
 
The only other Hound to collect hits in both games was Tyler Tesmond. Tesmond went a combined two for seven at the plate with a walk, a base hit and a double. He also drove in one run. Dane Toppel just played game one before getting a rest for the second leg where he went two for four at the dish with two singles.
 
Joe Engel saw his hit streak extend to 16 games in game one after he went one for three with a double. Mike Roberson led the team in RBIs in game one after he went one for four with a single and three RBIs.
 
Javy Martinez drove in one in game one after going one for three with a RBI single. Billy Hayes reached base twice in game one after slugging a base knock and drawing a walk. Finally, Zach Girard found his way on base twice in game two after reaching on a walk and a single.
 
Joey Roberson continues to excel on the bump as the Hounds starter for game one went an impressive six innings in which he gave up just two runs on seven hits. The ultimate utility man, Dane Toppel came on to throw the final frame of the ballgame where he gave up no runs on no hits while throwing just eight pitches.
 
Austin Lukaschewski, a usual reliever, was handed the ball to start game two where he last four and two-thirds innings in which he allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four. Unfortunately, the loss was handed to the always-reliable reliever, Tony Iero who gave up two runs on four hits.
 
The Hounds next ballgame is Thursday, July 21st at 5:30pm against the same Bobcat team down in Bloomington.
